Since first opening its doors in 1926, the InterContinental New York Barclay has welcomed countless guests to enjoy a luxurious residential-style experience in the heart of the city. Originally constructed as part of the Grand Central Terminal expansion. The Barclay became one of four notable railroad hotels built to service the well-heeled men and women traveling to New York City.
When you walk into any InterContinental Hotel the staff is able to customize and personalize your stay through their interaction with the guest and we extended this concept to the redesign of InterContinental New York Barclay’s site.
The personalize concept is brought to life through a number of options that customize everything from the home page image to the site offers and content so your experience on the site is personalized to the type of experience you want to have at on your next stay.
The visual design goes against traditional transactional site design concepts and was instead created to reinforce the simplicity found in the core brand position of ‘This is how it should feel’.
The concept is based on the personalized contents layout which we thought about the smart way to feature the contents to engage with the users based on their user pattern and behavior. This is a great content strategy to clearly engage with the user based on the user funnel and user intent.
So here is the breakdown. We can filter and auto generate the contents based on the 3 phases which are:
1. Dreaming: first-time visitors
2. Planning: return visitors
3. Booking: customer who completed a booking
